MAME 0.248 (modded by Valley Bell)

The sequel to "Sengoku" sends our heroes out
to stop the designs of another evil warlord,
and this time, their quest will take them back
and forward through time, from the Sengoku
period to World War II to the present. They
will also have an easier time of it, as the
gameplay is much fairer overall, with the
development team having more experience since
the original game's release. You only get
health refills between stages, but on the other
hand, you are much more capable of defending
yourself, with a sword permanently affixed
to your hands to fight the many weapon-wielding
opponents. You also get all the transformations
from the beginning, though only one of them
is of much use (the Tengu, who's great against
bosses).

The graphical and audio presentation has also
improved compared to the previous game, with
stronger color use and shading, more fluid
animation overall, and superior sound design.
Even the music has greater instrumentation than
the previous game, a more unified sound, and a
fit for every zone the player finds themselves
in. This soundtrack is one that you don't want
to miss!

This game never received a soundtrack CD
release, unlike the previous game, so the title
tags in this pack are based on where the tracks
are used in the game as well as the in-game
level titles, even though the official English
translation is spotty, making such strange
decisions as translating "The Present" as
"Age of the Upheavals". This pack also contains
six title screens, as there is a title screen
for the attract mode, and a separate title
screen when you insert your coin in an MVS
multi-slot machine.
